The Ideal Getaway to Find your Health!

A NiM sugere o Caminho dos Pés Descalços como a ideal escapadinha para recuperar a saúde que tanto precisa depois de uma semana stressante.

The route is located at Hotel Jardim Atlântico, in the parish of Prazeres. During the 800-meter long path, visitors walk over several typical features of the archipelago, such as pinecones, wood, bay leaves, eucalyptus, mud, black and yellow sands and even pebbles. Along the way there are more than 400 plants, which provoke a natural and medicinal sensation.

When passing through the barefoot path, reflexology is performed, that is, applying pressure on certain areas of the feet that induces a sensation of relaxation. Reflexology helps stimulating the cardiovascular system, regulates blood pressure and improves blood flow. Besides the health benefits, the path has a privileged view of Paul do Mar.

To make the journey you don’t need to be lodging at the hotel, you just have to go to the reception to pay the symbolical value of 1€ euro per person and you receive a small towel to dry your feet. The Barefoot Path is open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

NiM wishes you a venturous walking through this majestic path! Watch your steps!

A great hotel. amazing staff. Food was very good.
The hotel put some simple but good entertainment on and introduced us to a musician who turned out to be part of an orchestra which you can watch in Funchal (at the English Church) RECOMMENDED.
A little hard to park the car nearby the hotel ( but there are disabled bays and loading / unloading bays).
Fantastic for walking…..as is the whole island.
You need a car or other transport to stay at this hotel to be practical.
There is now a new health centre not far from the hotel which my wife unexpectedly had to visit while on holiday. It was nice to know there was such a facility in a small village.
I hope I can return one day soon. I love Madeira. I would certainly use the hotel again

On behalf of NIM, we are much appreciated for your feedback and would like to apologise for the late reply.
We would also like to wish you a joyful 2021 and will be counting on your next visit to the Pearl of the Atlantic so you can tell us more about the new sites you come across on the island of Madeira.

      Cheers!
